CA18DET into Datsun 1600 - Costs (Parts-Only!)

IMPORTANT: Before reading this article, please read and understand the turbophile.com disclaimer.

Also understand that prices, availability and methods may vary from what is stated here, as this page was last updated in June 2002.

What follows is a rough guide only to the costs associated with retro-fitting a Nissan CA18DET into a Datsun 1600 doing all the work yourself. I will take no responsibility for your conversion costing more than I have outlined here - as everyone does things differently and some prices may vary from what has been quoted. Also note that this is mostly a 'parts only' costing guide - if you get someone else to do the complete conversion or even parts of it (such as wiring etc), unless specified here, it will cost you extra for labour.

This guide can also be used for other similar conversions such as the SR20DET or FJ20DET, just modify it to suit the price of the different motor.

The ORANGE costs is the expensive route to take, with new components instead of 2nd hand, and the YELLOW costs are the cheaper path.

The items in DARK BLUE are available from Cam at his site here, please note prices are subject to vary and freight to places outside Melbourne will be extra.
