Update 19th February 2002

Well we got the car back on the 4th of Feb (a Monday) and took it down to the Department of Transport to be rego'd. Got some nice new plates and headed off home. It was pretty rough to drive as the steering would not turn full lock to the right, on closer inspection we saw this was because the joint on the steering link was actually hitting on the clutch master cylinder on the gearbox.

There are also a few fuelling problems but this all should be resolved some time next week. Until then we are putting in the new reversed bend steering link I have bought, and fixing up a few other little things.

right swaybar end motor without spark plugs left swaybar end

So until next week there wont be a lot happening with the dat, but believe me when I say it is VERY VERY close to being driveable! Keep watching!

Below are some pics of the ends of the front sway bar, you can see where the end has been screwed down futher to bring the front of the bar upwards, as they usually hang down quite a way. In the middle is the top of the motor with the spark plugs out, its a bit grubby in there which may be part of the reason the motor is not getting much of a spark.
