Charlotte's CA18DET Datsun 1600
Update 18th November 2002
Some people have been asking about my radiator setup so here are some pics showing it in detail. It's an N13 Nissan Pulsar radiator, when I bought it it had already been cut down lengthways to accommodate intercooler pipes, it was going to be used for an SR20DET conversion in a 1600 but the owner changed his mind afterwards.
The top pipe inlet was on the wrong side for a CA18DET, so I had a radiator workshop change it over to the other side, and a baffle welded into the middle of the drivers side end tank so the coolant would flow across the radiator twice for better cooling. On the standard datto temperature guage the needle rarely gets above the midway dot, and only in stop-start traffic on a hot day.
It's mounted on custom brackets welded onto the chassy, this had to be done to accommodate the intercooler as it's quite thick so the radiator couldn't sit flush in the usual position. The top is held by an aluminium plate, and its cooled by a single 16" thermo fan. It's all pretty obvious from the images anyway.
I don't have the car with me today but dimentions of the radiator are on their way.
