• Happy New Year to all! Best wishes from Turbophile.
• I've done some re-organisation of the website. The Cars page was getting quite long so I have split it up into Editors Feature Cars and Readers Rides.
• Three new feature cars added to Readers Rides - a Datsun 1200 Ute, CA18DET Datsun 120Y, and an RB25 Nissan Skyline.
• The feature car submission form has been updated to include a set of guidelines to follow before you submit your car, if you are thinking of submitting your car to be added to Turbophile, please read through these carefully first!
• There is now a page of information about Turbophile Sponsorship. Becoming a sponsor is a great way of gaining exposure and qualified leads for related businesses, as well as supporting a great source of information for Datsun and Nissan enthusiasts.

• After only a week back on the road, the CA18 1600 has lost compression in #4 cylinder. The head is now off and we are looking into it - probably time for a rebuild though. :( More information when we know what's going on.

• Sorry I haven't updated the site for a while people - I have been relocating once again and it took 2 weeks to get the damn phone on - so no internet for me! If I have been taking a while to respond to your emails then that's why. ;) All back up and running now though.
• Adam's SR20DET 1600 project car has finally been updated! There's lots of pics and a long update article for you to read in the feature cars section here. A big thanks to Adam for this!

• I found some footage from Jamboree 2002 that I thought I taped over, so have added 4 videos to the video section of the CA18DET Gemini wagon, the Rigoli 4wd Accent and 2.2L GTi-R, and an SR20DET Datsun 1600.
• Added 2 new videos to the OCA018 video page - nothing too exciting - just wanted to show off my new wheels in action! Some decent still photos will be coming soon.
• All the videos are now back online! My brother has kindly agreed to let me use his webspace for a while until I can afford more server space of my own - thanks bro! ;)
• A new article has been added to the Media section - CA18 Street Tuner from a recent issue of Zoom magazine

• To celebrate 20,000 hits on the website I decided to add a forum!! This can be used to contact us about site suggestions, discuss topics relevant to the site, ask questions about our cars or really anything you like. Its a very simple one so you cant actually register, but you can post topics and reply to existing topics with a username and password that you select yourself.
• More videos added - these are the first ones of Andrew's new 1600 (NIZ510) - 3 vids
• Some early Japanese Datsun 1600 TV advertisments have been added to the video section too, thanks to the510realm.com for these :) - 6 vids
• I have had to delete several videos from the server to make way for the new ones, I have reached my limit AGAIN and need to buy more server space - if anyone wants to make any kind donations to keep Turbophile up and running it would be much appreciated!
• Prices dropped in the for sale section - these items must go.

• The CA18 datto is finally on the road!!! As of last Friday (1st November) it is now registered and driven daily. There are a few things that need sorting out, mostly little stuff, but so far it has been running well and behaving itself. Expect to see some images as soon as I can get hold of a digital camera, hopefully this weekend.
• In the Christmas holidays I will be redesigning this site to be more user-friendly and hopefully have a few more features such as a guestbook, mailing list, polls etc. If you have any ideas of how the site could be improved please email me at charlotte@turbophile.com

• We went to the Jamboree on Saturday and took lots of photos of 1600's and 1200's and even a GTi-R, plus a few videos too so look out for these on the site soon.
• Looks like we won't be going to the Datsun Nationals in Sydney this year due to money hassles and the car not being ready on time - boo hoo! Oh well maybe next year. Plus it will give us a chance to get my dat sorted out and fully tested before we trundle off halfway accross the country. ;)
• Work is progressing well on the datto, we have this week and next week off so are working on it every day to try and get it on the road by the end of next week. Expect a full update soon.

• As you may have noticed I have redesigned the navigation system, so hopefully sections are now easier to find! I have tested it all pretty thoroughly but if anyone finds any bugs please let me know.
• A few new things will be coming in the next few weeks. I have a 1968 Datsun 1600 sales brochure that I am in the process of scanning, thanks to Andy (check out his turbo wagon here). I am also hoping to start scanning the Datsun 1600 workshop manual that we have and convert it to PDF files for people to download.
• There's a new page in the Technical section of FAQ's, there's not much there yet but it will be getting updated constantly from now on.

• due to popular demand, I have made a gallery of images dedicated to my CA18 datto, so now you wont have to search through a heap of updates to find the right photo. It can be accessed through the 'Our Cars' section or through the Gallery. It has been divided into sub-sections to reduce page download times so just select the section you are interested in and browse away!

Sorry it has taken so long but my internet connection is not the best the I had to take my computer somewhere else to upload these large files. Enjoy! :)

• Charlotte's 1600 Updates page has been reorganised to speed up page download times. I have moved house and have a very slow internet connection now so I can see the time it must take for some viewers to download the larger pages in the site like this one! I have now divided it up into individual pages that link to each date's update, rather than a long list. Hope this helps! Oh and the latest update is here.
• Andrew's 1600 page has been updated with a couple of new images of the car sandblasted.
• I have added 2 new galleries; one is from the recent Drag Combat at Willowbank Raceway, and the other is a Rally Datsun gallery, it currently only has 3 pics but I hope to add more soon.
• The GTi-R page has been updates with some images of the stereo the new owner, Timmy, has installed.

• I have added a new page in the Technical section which covers a questions that I am asked frequently - 'How much does a conversion like the CA18DET one in the Datto actually cost?' This section outlines the costs involved in Australian $ and is divided into sections - the essential mods, the reccomended mods and other things to consider. If anyone out there has anything futher to add to this page or any suggestions please send me an email to charlotte@turbophile.com

• The GTi-R is finally gone! We are keeping in touch with the new owner though so if anything interesting happens we will update the page, but it will be moved to the 'Previous Cars' section.
• There is now a new page about the Suzuki Vitara we recieved as part payment for the GTi-R.

• Some site news - I have decided to reorganise the site again (*groan*) - this time I will probably keep the same general look but just add a few new sections like a 'How-to' technical page and a media page for reproduction of relevant magazine articles (still looking into the legalities of this one). Also I will re-organise the 'Our Cars' section, dividing the info which is all currently on one long page into sections which should make it easier to wade through. If anyone has any suggestions how to make this site better please e-mail me and share your thoughts!

• If you in South East Queensland (and surrounding areas) and would like to be involved in the new Queensland Datsun Club that is being started, drop Peter an e-mail at brisbanedatsunclub@hotmail.com to register your interest. The club will be open to all makes and models of Datsuns and there will be organised events for you to participate in such as cruises and race days, plus you get to meet like-minded datto people and make new friends. :) The first cruise will probably take place in early February so register now and don't miss out on a fun day!

• You may have noticed that Turbophile has been down for the last week or so, unfortunately the server it's stored on crashed and had to be replaced, and the entire site re-uploaded. A bit inconvenient but my host was very good about it and worked hard through Christmas to get it all up and running again. If anyone comes across any broken links or basically anything untoward, then please let me know by emailing me at charlotte@turbophile.com Thanks!
• There are now updates on both the Charlotte's 1600 and Andrew's 1600 page.
• We now have the datto back from the workshop but there are still a few things that need to be done before the car can be driven, like brakes, clutch and diff work. We also need to get all the electrics working (the most time consuming and difficult job of all!). We have some more film of the (almost) completed conversion that needs to be developed though, so expect some more update pics near the end of the week.

20th December 2001

• Turbophile now has it's first ongoing feature car. Adam has provided pics and info to document the progress of his Datsun 1600, which is receiving an SR20DET transplant. Keep watching as there will be more material added regularly. Go here.
• I have some more update pics of both our Datsuns which should be up very soon, stay tuned!

28th November 2001

• Updated the ET Pulsar page with some new pics and info on the engine rebuild the new owner of the car has just completed.
• Finally I've added some more update pics to the Datsun 1600 page. The conversion should be completed in a week or so.

12th November 2001

• Added about 10 more videos to the video page. Now I have switched servers I can provide better quality vids, so a couple of the GTi-R ones have been re-done and now go for longer etc. Most of the videos are from Jamboree 2001. Just remember you may need to download the DivX ;-) codec from here before the videos will play properly.
• As you can probably see, the GTi-R is now for sale. :( Please don't hesitate to enquire!

• Not a heap has been happening on the car front lately, but the are now brief updates on the GTi-R and Datsun 1600 pages. There is also now a *new* feature car submission form for you to complete if you would like the idea of your car featured on this site.
